What a powerful piece of filmmaking. Such control of pace and tone and it's raw and real. Bravo!
Wonderful film @d_kakembo . Do you have plans to expand this narrative. Would love to see what becomes of Ake.
This is such a brilliant effort. I have always wondered how do you distil a big idea into such a concise, but complete piece?
I truly appreciate every question and comment. Rest assured, I’m taking the time to respond thoughtfully, gathering my thoughts to provide detailed answers. Thank you for your engagement!
Such a powerful film ! Left us wondering what will happen next… I’m really eager to know!!
Only question, Where is the rest ? Points were made perfectly but I’m not ready for an end ! So emotionally charging , truly brilliant work
“ should I stay or should I go “ stuck in my head now lol 😂 The impact in such a short cut time is absolutely incredible!
I enjoyed this and want to know if this is the first in a series. If it’s not, it needs to be. Well done guys!
So happy that it resonated with you; that’s also one of my favourite scenes. The mother, Martha, speaks the strongest Luganda, Chisom’s is weaker, and Ake doesn’t speak it at all. It further illustrates their generational differences, the struggle, and the loss of language, which is something that often happens in migrant communities.
This was so interesting . I did not know kids back there are sent back here at home as a Punishment 😟😂 Thought they could be proud of their roots or something . All in all this was great piece . I felt great hearing Luganda in some scenes 🇺🇬❤️ and definetly looking forward to working with you when you plan to shoot something back at Home . Great Work

Brilliant work! I also think this is worth a continuation in part 2.
Brilliant and stunning work!

Congratulations to the whole cast and crew on this powerful film! Many moments stand out but I especially liked the scene when Ake can’t understand what his mother and uncle are saying about sending him away. So many layers of conflict and cultural disconnection. Bravo!
