Disney's #Grid is a brave show for using the Growing Block Universe Theory. It is rarely used in #scifi because today's audience are more familiar with the "Dynamic Theory of Spacetime" which supports "multiple timelines" and "parallel universes" than the Static Theory of Spacetime (or "Static Time" for short).
In Static Time, to quote Grid, "time doesn't flow". This means that there is only one timeline and one universe. For a time travel story, this is unimaginable for most people, unless they are familiar with Static Time theories.
This is why it is understandable many are confused with the show, to the point that many are calling it out as "filled with plot holes" or "the [seasoned] writer doesn't know how to write stories".
But as someone who is not a fan of excuses like "plot holes", "continuity errors", and similar, I always look for an inhuniverse explanation. Believe it or not, most sci-fi writers, especially those writing time travel stories, do keep things sensible, Grid is no exception, it does make sense.
Don't forget, Grid is a soft science fiction, which means it deals with the soft sciences. This is why it did not offer much on explaining its temporal mechanics and sequence of events. It is more about relationships, human emotions, the choices humans make, than dealing with hard sciences like the physics.
This is where the fanbase comes in. We explain things based on what is available as canon. We look at it from an inhuniverse perspective and try to unlock the mind of the author.
