Under the name overcasteight, Sini began his photographic journey in 2016, after he and his wife bought a DSLR for a trip. It was meant to document a few memories, but the spark caught. Six years later, he picked up his first film camera, and everything changed. The pace, the patience, the imperfections. It all made sense. What started as a curiosity quickly became a calling.
Today, Sini works almost exclusively with film. All of his images are shot on analog, scanned by him, and - if black and white - developed by hand. Color rolls are entrusted to a local lab, but the rest of the process remains personal and hands-on.
He cites Vivian Maier as a key influence. Her square compositions and quiet use of Twin-Lens Reflex cameras left a mark. But where Maier held her work close, Sini chooses to let his out into the world. Not for the spotlight, but to share in the simple, enduring joy of looking.
