My VERO #9: Kathleen Johnston and Eleanor Halls
Chart-topping music podcast Straight Up - hosted by British GQ journalist Kathleen Johnston and Telegraph journalist Eleanor Halls - plays host to some of the biggest names in culture and conversations about the songs that shaped them.
From the music that soundtracked their childhoods and first romances to the song that makes them feel invincible and the one that makes them cry, Straight Up digs deep to reveal the real person behind the work.
For episode #23, Straight Up caught up with none other than Zack Synder. After connecting initially on VERO (Zack's a big fan of the show), the thrilling chat chronicles Zack's personal life and career, including a deeper dive into the sounds from ZSJL and Army Of The Dead.

British GQ
Kathleen manages the British GQ account on VERO, so obviously has to give this one a shout-out! She's been busy building out GQ's Collections with hundreds of recommendations from the musicians the magazine features, covering loads of great TV and film suggestions, books, apps, and places all over the world. It's the spot to find out what the music world's biggest stars have been watching, reading, and listening to (as well as their favorite hotspots).
Madonna
Because Madonna! The icon is so fun on VERO, keeping her followers entertained with a snapshot into her life behind the scenes, from at home with her kids and on tour (when there was such a thing).
Kelis
Another music legend we love following is Kelis. She lives on a farm and posts photos of her dogs and her cooking, it's so wholesome! She also shares some fab recommendations, especially movies, with a definite deep knowledge of all the latest releases and she also gets the debate going in her comments!
VERO Music
The music community has always been amazing on VERO, so we were thrilled when the platform started its own label VERO Music last year. Their first signing, Thunder Jackson, released a really great debut album that you should definitely check out! VERO Music doesn't just post about its own artists, either. They are always spotlighting the coolest musicians on the platform.
Rankin
There are so many fantastic photographers on VERO that it is difficult to choose just one (we also love Greg Williams and Amelia Troubridge ,but Rankin's channel really is super special, with regular shots from his archive posted alongside cool recommendations and insight into his latest work.
Abi Ocia
We are obsessed with this musician. Her voice is just heavenly, she writes the most incredible, poetic songs and she is a truly other-worldly performer; you need to listen to Abi's debut EP 'Where Are You?'. We also loved the personal essay she wrote for VERO earlier this year, 'Roots of Joy', which was part of the Black Joy Series.
