My VERO #13: Larry Flick
The host of VERO Music’s #NewMusicMoves speaks with us about his favorite VERO accounts.
The maestro of VERO Music’s #NewMusicMoves, Larry has been in and around the music industry for 35-plus years.
As a journalist, he was a senior editor at Billboard and a feature writer for publications like Vibe and the Advocate. He also spent 18 years as a host and producer at SiriusXM, covering everything from pop culture to politics. Along the way, he's also worked for Prince and KISS, and I've interviewed everyone from Madonna and Bono to Adele and Beyonce.
In between adding rich new tracks to our New Music Moves playlist (Available on Apple Music and Spotify), we hopped on VERO calls to discuss the accounts that he loves.
Behm MacRae
Behm is an intense dude who is has a smart and provocative view of life and art. Tucked beneath his cool demeanor is an engaging wit and the ability to distill history and its ongoing impact on pop culture.
Ryan Havers
Ryan is a young fella with the soul of an old punk. He's a musician. He has great taste in music. And, for some intangible reason, I think he'd have been good friends with Lou Reed if he'd had the chance.
Moongazer
A woman who goes by the name MoonGazer. Her passion for music matches my own. She also has wonderfully versatile tastes, ranging from metal to pop, with a bit of blues and new wave thrown in. She's not here for the flex. She just loves music
TJ Marbois
TJ is a VERO colleague, which is sorta cheating, but not really. If you follow his feed, you will get a healthy smattering of science/tech news, smart pop-cultural recommendations, and a neat sense of humor. He was also my very first pal on VERO, so he's also got that going for him.
Ludwig
Ludwig was another of my first friends here on VERO. He's an artist with a beautiful heart. It was talking about music, art, and queer life in the UK and Germany that made me see that this is a platform with humanity.
Joel Gallant
Joel is a budding photographer with incredible taste in music. He can also pull off a killer handlebar mustache with a hipster goatee without being obnoxious. He's worth following for that alone.
