Daisy Nefatari, known by her creative alias Blossom Bay Photography, draws profound inspiration from her passion for 60s and 70s vintage fashion and album artwork. Embracing the beauty of mistakes and happy accidents, Daisy has carved a niche in the world of analog photography, where her unique style shines through.

Daisy resides in a picturesque rural part of Devon, UK. Her love for 1960s and 70s vintage fashion profoundly influences both her personal style and her photographic work. Daisy has been shooting film for approximately two and a half years, a craft she deeply cherishes. When she's not behind the camera, she can be found exploring the countryside, thrifting for vintage treasures, and engaging with the vibrant local creative community.

I listen to a lot of vinyl, and the album artwork is always a big source of inspiration for me. In particular, I was drawn to the artwork of “Axis: Bold as Love” by The Jimi Hendrix Experience and “Little Queen” by Heart.

“The mix of colors and psychedelic patterns from The Hendrix album speaks to me on a creative level, and the location and overall vintage whimsical feel from Little Queen are right up my street. I wanted to blend the two and create something unique. Sylvie, my model, has an incredible sense of style and lives right next to a beautiful forest. We didn't have much of a plan other than that —everything came together organically.”

One of Daisy's standout projects involved experimenting with LomoChrome Purple 35 mm ISO 100–400 film, which she initially tested for her YouTube channel. The film's dreamy color shifts resonated perfectly with her psychedelic vision, evoking the slightly desaturated, vintage vinyl cover aesthetic she adores. She was particularly captivated by how the reds remained deep and vivid, complementing her favorite red and purple color combination. The natural skin tones and the overall results exceeded her expectations, making LomoChrome Purple her favorite Lomography film.

Daisy envisions a film that encapsulates the essence of pre-light leaked rolls but with an added twist—built-in prism effects, kaleidoscope patterns, and motion blur. Such a film, she believes, would capture the psychedelic experience on film, and she would eagerly stock up on it.

Daisy Nefatari's work continues to inspire those who appreciate the nostalgic charm of vintage fashion and the artistic potential of film photography. Through Blossom Bay Photography, she invites us to see the world through her creatively eclectic lens.
