My VERO #4: Shaine Schroeder
A prolific fine artist based in the Midwest United States with a client list ranging from film and television actors and directors to musicians, fashion designers, and restaurateurs, Shaine Schroeder lives and works in his hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
"My work is my reality. It's how I see things, and I can't shut it off," he says. "There's a perpetual circus in my head. I don't want it to resemble a photograph. If that were the case, I'd save countless hours and click the shutter button. I have a difficult time attempting to make everything on canvas look perfect. Instead I paint it exactly how I see it. To me, that's art- filtering what you see through your own headspace, your own life experience. Some think art is silly, but it's one of the few things I've ever taken seriously", said Shaine.
We've been admirers of Shaine's work for some time now, and were excited to have the chance to quiz him on his favorite VERO profiles...
Dylan Jones
I consider this to be the tastemaker's tastemaker feed. From television and reading recommendations to travels to exotic locales, it's a fascinating glimpse into the day-to-day of an editor-in-chief.
Greg Williams
Greg does consistently beautiful work and also makes us feel like we were front and center at some of the world's most glamorous events. Definitely, a blast to peruse.
Pictas Art
Pictas has an unrelenting ability to perpetually introduce new talent to the world of VERO. I've discovered some of my new favorites because of their introductions.
Robert Greene
I can't say enough about this man. He's hands down my favorite author and without question one of the most important voices in contemporary literature. He takes you deep into human behaviors and intelligently discusses ways to maneuver through life.
AML Trio
The definition of hard work. This group is constantly grinding and it shows. They take their music and fashion seriously and so should you.
